How to Haul a Side-By-Side
If you have plans to travel with your side-by-side, we strongly encourage you to avoid towing your model. While safe for short distances, towing often results in increased wear and even various damage to a side-by-side. Thankfully, hauling your vehicle will be easy as pie, once you read our helpful guide below!
Loading Your Side-By-Side
The easiest way to load a side-by-side into your trailer or cargo space is by simply driving it up. To do so all you need to do is place your side-by-side a yard or two away from your trailer, pull down or position your ramp, and drive forward until your model’s wheels are perfectly aligned with the trailer and ramp. While this will take some adjusting, and a little trial and error, once everything is in position, all you need to do is slowly drive up the ramp and into the trailer and cut your engine.
Securing Your Side-By-Side
Now that your side-by-side is in your trailer bed, you’ll want to grab at least 4 tie-down straps and wheel chocks to begin securing your vehicle. First, place a wheel chock firmly behind each one of your side-by-side’s tires, attaching your tie-down straps to your model’s axles or frame as you go. You should now have 4 tie-down straps attached to your side-by-side in four different places. Taking the other end of your straps, attach them to your trailer’s various anchor points in an X shape, tightening them till they are just taught. This should keep your side-by-side from receiving too much pressure on one specific part or component, as well as keep your model from slipping and sliding as you drive.
